Soccer Lesson #1

Today in class we learned about dribbling a soccer ball. The cues that I learned today were:
1. Dribble the ball with the inside of my foot.
2. Keep the ball close to my body.
3. Keep my eyes up.

It is important for me to kick the ball with the inside of my foot because it gives me more control of the ball. It is important for me to keep the ball close to my body so that it is harder for the defender to steal it and so that I can cut quicker. Lastly, it is important for me to keep my eyes up so that I can see the defender and see any open teammates I can pass it to.

I felt that the lesson today went very well. I gave a full effort in everything that I did. I gave my full attention to the teacher while he was explaining it. I really liked how Mr. Maddox had a more advance student demostrate the skill because it helped me see what exactly I am suspose to do. I also really liked the drills we did.  My favriot drill was the one that we dribbled the ball in and out of the cones because it challenged me. I felt that the lesson was exactly the right difficulty, it was not too hard or too easy. I must admit though that I am not too happy that we have to do a research paper. I am looking forward to the next class.
